A lot to do this week in Holliston. It is Holy Week for the Christian community.

At the closing of nomination papers on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, there are candidates for ALL the vacant seats for the Town Election on May 24, 2022. Some seats are now contested with more candidates than vacancies.

The Holliston Farmer’s Market returns in early June.
The experience will be enhanced with volunteer musicians adding audio art to the other art and comestibles available each Sunday.

Holliston Eagle Scout Candidate Andrew McWilliams completed his project at Pleasure Point in March.  Andrew built and installed two boat racks near the boat launch at Pleasure Point that the Parks and Recreation Department are renting out on a season-long basis for kayakers, paddle boarders and/or canoeists looking to store their equipment on the shore of Lake Winthrop this season.

Twenty-three Holliston properties transferred ownership in March. This is the first half of the list.

At 7:03PM on Wednesday evening, Library Trustees (LT) Chair Karla Alfred (above L) opened the April 6 meeting. With a few corrections and edits, the March minutes were approved, and the group turned the floor to Library Director Leslie McDonnell for the Director’s Report.

To help celebrate Earth Day 2022, two new sites are opening for residents to participate in the Town of Holliston’s Textile Recycling Program.
Also included is a flyer related to the town’s curbside compost initiative announcing a special incentive for subscribers who sign up in April – that could result in a savings for all Holliston subscribers!

Update (April 12th) The content of this article has been updated by the Garden Club,
There is not much to like about the world’s experience with the Covid virus ~ it has held us captive as scientists and global leaders have struggled to find answers. If there is any positive thing, it has given people opportunity for reflection.  For lots of reasons, the question raised is: Are our current practices “sustainable”?

The quarterly water bills will be mailed out Friday, April 15, 2022.  This bill reflects water usage for the period January – March 2022 and any arrears. 

Stop by the Holliston Senior Center this Sunday between Noon and 4pm for a ‘photo op’ with the Easter Bunny.

The April 4, 2022, Select Board meeting had a new look. This camera angle showed most of the audience that gathered to participate in person. Chair Tina Hein excitedly opened the meeting at 7:00pm thanking those in attendance – a first in quite some time.
