The Holliston Lions Club would like to extend their appreciation to everyone who purchased a ticket for our Big Raffle. We’d also like to thank HCAT for the assistance they provided in helping us eliminate all but our last 10 finalists!

Although today was a cool, rainy day, it’s important to remember that one of the best ways we can balance getting out of the house with social distancing is by engaging in outdoor activities.

HFD conducted several investigations of potentially dangerous situations during this reporting period.

As we enter our seventh month of the pandemic, I wanted to take a moment to share some data that illustrates both how far we’ve come and how important continued vigilance will be.

The unofficial results in the State Primary for the Democratic, Republican, Green Rainbow, and Libertarian parties are posted here. The results will be official in the very near future.

The Select Board spent time in a joint session with the Governance Committee and then moved on to their full weekly agenda of Town business.

Tomorrow (TODAY), September 1, is Election Day for our statewide primary elections. Our Town Clerks, municipal officials, poll workers, and statewide election officials have worked tirelessly to ensure that all Massachusetts voters can exercise their civic duty in a safe, accessible manner tomorrow, and I want to thank them for their service to our democracy in these unprecedented times.

September kicks off with a State Primary Election. Vote at the High School on Tuesday. Several board and committee meetings are on tap this week.

They’re about as rare a find nowadays as a public pay phone, but they do exist. Those with lakeside or mountain camps in Vermont or New Hampshire may not think of their outhouse as a novelty or luxury when the call of nature surfaces.

The United States Census Bureau is actively conducting Non-Response Follow Up operations across every city, town, and municipality in the state to ensure a complete and accurate count of everyone living in the United States. By law, the Census Bureau must provide the first results from the 2020 Census by December 31.

The Massachusetts Student Record Regulations authorize public school districts to destroy student records within seven (7) years of a student’s graduation, transfer or withdrawal from the school district. The Holliston Public Schools, Department of Student Services, will be complying with these regulations. The persons affected are those who received special education services in Holliston and terminated services during the 2012-2013 school years.
