PUBLIC DISCLOSURE NOTICE TO HOLLISTON TAXPAYERS

The Town of Holliston has completed a reassessment of all classes of property as required by the Bureau of Local Assessment of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue and in accordance with Chapter 40, Section 56 of the Massachusetts General Laws.

Preliminary certification has been received on these values. The Fiscal Year 2026 values are based on the value of property on January 1, 2025 and were developed based on calendar year 2024 sales, on calendar year 2024 income and expense information received and analyzed from commercial and industrial properties, and on information received and analyzed on personal property forms of list. This analysis indicated that “in general” residential properties increased in value at a rate of approximately 15.4%; commercial property values increased in value at a rate of approximately 18%, and industrial property increased at a rate of approximately 26%.

These are statistical averages. Some properties remained essentially the same in value, some properties decreased in value, and some properties increased in value. Some properties had a more substantial increase in value if there were:

·         Sales of a similar property on the same street, or

·         Sales of similar properties in the same neighborhood, or

·         Sales of similar properties in other similar neighborhoods, or if there were

·         Additions or renovations to the property, or

·         New construction properties, or

·         Corrections to the property record card, or

·         Because of our cyclical inspection program on certain streets and certain neighborhoods in town where it has been several years since our last full review of those properties.

The proposed values for Fiscal Year 2026 are available for taxpayer review from Friday, November 7, 2025 through Friday, November 14, 2025at the Assessors’ Office at Holliston Town Hall during regular business hours and on the town website at  https://www.townofholliston.us under the Assessor’s page listed as “Proposed Values for Real Estate and Personal Property for Fiscal Year 2026.” The list of proposed values is arranged alphabetically by street address. The website information also contains the proposed value on personal property accounts and a copy of the property record card on all arm’s length Calendar Year 2023 and 2024 sales.

Any taxpayer who is concerned with the accuracy of the valuation of their property should visit or call the staff at the Assessors’ office at 508 429-0604 during the public disclosure period to ask questions and review their value and their property record card.

  1. I too called. My home isn’t listed at all nor many neighbors and there’s addresses that don’t exist (example 400-600 regal street?). Not sure what happened to the published list but it’s not usable currently.
