Roberta “Bobbie” M. (Hoffses) McGaffigan, 80, of Bellingham and formerly of Holliston, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Born in Waltham, she was the daughter of the late Eleanor (Betts) and Robert Hoffses. She was the devoted wife of 58 years to Cornelius “Connie” McGaffigan.
Born and raised in Waltham, Bobbie was a graduate of Waltham High School Class of 1962 and Chandler School for Women in 1964. She worked at Polaroid where she met Connie and was a smiling face while working at Dr. Siddiqui’s office and the CVS Pharmacy in Holliston. Bobbie was a Holliston resident since 1976, and was an active member of the Holliston Senior Center where she helped start Monday afternoon games and volunteered at the Holliston Food Pantry. She was a devoted member of Saint Mary’s Church, where she found great joy in attending services and socializing after mass at “coffee, juice, and donuts”. She enjoyed traveling with her many friends and especially cherished her time with her Waltham card group girls, creating a lifetime of lasting memories.
In addition to her husband Connie, Bobbie was the loving and devoted mother to her children, Kelley Higgins and her husband, Dan, of Holliston, Kimberley Marsden and her husband, Jay, of Holliston, and Brian McGaffigan and his wife, Bonnie, of Franklin. She was the cherished grandmother to Ashley Mulvaney, and her husband, Ryan, Danny Higgins, Riley and Kendall Marsden, Connor and Avery McGaffigan, and her soon to be first born great-granddaughter. She leaves behind her brother, David Hoffses of Ayer and her love and affection extended to her many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22nd from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holliston Senior Center, 150 Goulding St. Holliston, MA 01746 or the Holliston Food Pantry, 73 Charles St. Holliston.
