As a study by Formrush.com shows, Massachusetts EV registrations have surged over 1,270% from just 3,600 in 2016 to 49,400 today. From 2021 to 2022 alone, EV numbers jumped 62% statewide.

The main factors that constitute this study:

  • The United States in 2016 had 280,300 electric cars compared to 2,442,300 in 2022, a 771.3% increase. Compared from 2021 1,454,400 (EV) – 2,442,300 (EV) to 2022 with a rise of 67.9%.
  • Rising gas prices, government incentives, and lower operating costs are making EVs increasingly appealing to consumers. • Major automakers like Nissan, Chevrolet, Audi, Porsche, BMW, Ford, Hyundai/Kia, and Volkswagen are challenging Tesla’s dominance in the surging electric vehicle market by launching increasingly popular models like the Leaf, Bolt EV, e-tron, Taycan, i3, Mustang Mach-E, Kona Electric, and ID.4 that blend range, performance, styling, and more affordable pricing.
