A Weekend of Service, Respect, and Remembrance: Twenty Years After 9/11

By Pranav Govindarajan (Project 351 Alumni, Holliston)

This past weekend was very important for millions of people in our country including me and my family. It has been twenty years since the attacks on 9.11 in New York. Being a Project 351 Alumni and a Holliston resident, it was an honor to take part in The American Legion 9/11 Awards Ceremony in Holliston and also to actively support The Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund, and The New England Center and Home for Veterans along with my Project 351 family at the Rose Kennedy Greenway in Boston this past weekend.

It was tremendously inspiring and an honor to meet many brave Veterans, Firefighters, Police Officers, Civilian heroes, the President of the Massachusetts Senate President Spilka, Massachusetts State Representative Dykema, and my fellow Project 351 Alumni and Ambassadors.

I would like to share my words of sincere gratitude and amazing experience through this article with the Holliston community, so you are as inspired as I am, and we stand united in expressing our gratitude and respect to the heroes who sacrificed their lives on 9/11 and to our First Responders who continue to selflessly protect us every single day and night.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Commander Bradford, The American Legion, Senator Spilka, Representative Dykema, my teachers, school, Project 351 team, our town community, and my family for supporting and encouraging me so I can serve and continue to give back to the best of my ability. Thank you!
