A remote meeting electronically gathered the Library Trustees and Library Director Leslie McDonnell on Wednesday evening. Topics of discussion included library loan periods, fines, and hours as the Library moves into the fall season.

It was immediately apparent that the Governance Committee (GC) is pursuing its By-laws project, examining Holliston’s “Finance and Fiscal Procedures,” Monday evening during a joint meeting with the Select Board.

Following an Executive Session that ran until 7:00, the School Committee (SC) Chair Stacey Raffi called the remote Open Meeting to order at 7:03 PM Thursday evening.

The Holliston Governance Committee (GC) met remotely Wednesday evening and made quick work of approving minutes from their August 3 meeting. Sam Tyler, Chair suggested an initial By-Laws Project to focus their work.
Travis Ahern, Holliston’s new Town Administrator, was sworn in on July 2, and joined the Select Board, Finance Committee, various representatives from town Boards, Committees, and departments, and a quorum of residents at the July 20 Town Meeting for his first day in his new role.

The School Committee (SC) reconvened Thursday evening following an executive session. District and building administrators were in attendance. Following almost three hours’ discussion on the proposed District Reopening Plan, the vote was delayed until Monday.
The recently created Governance Committee sought clarification of the Select Board’s charge* to them as the two groups met in tandem at 6:30 on Monday evening preceding their individual 7 PM meetings.

The Thursday night remote School Committee meeting was called to order at 7:04 PM by Chair Stacey Raffi. A majority of time concerned the reopening of schools.
Dr. Susan Kustka, recently named Holliston Public School’s Interim Superintendent, remotely attended the Thursday night meeting of the School Committee.
Now enjoying his “retirement” from the Select Board, Mark Ahronian met with Chris and me recently to share thoughts about his term.
