The Holliston School Committee met remotely on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, with virtual public participation. Chair Cynthia Listewnik opened the meeting at 7PM. Minutes from several prior meetings were approved by roll call vote: Oct. 29, 2020, Dec. 3 and 10, 2020, and June 17, 2021.

On Friday, August 20, I had the pleasure of watching Roberta Weiner’s Prana production of The Lion King, Jr. It was the last day of camp, and this was the dress rehearsal, so much excitement was in the air.

Fall Fair Headlines Senior Center September Activities
The Senior Center Annual Fall Fair is only a few weeks away. Items may still be donated through the end of August. Bakers are needed to supply the Cake Sale. Volunteers are always welcome to help prepare for the Fair or to work at the Fair on September 11th.

Holliston Youth Selected for Laver Cup Boston Ballkid Squad
Caroline Cosgrove from Holliston has been selected following an intensive recruitment process as one of 30 Massachusetts kids between the ages of 12-15 to be part of the Laver Cup 2021 Boston Ballkid Squad. She participated in a grueling training session on Friday, August 13 at Longfellow Tennis Club in Natick, going through a series of training exercises, focusing on their agility, endurance, coordination, ball skills, balance, speed and teamwork—all attributes essential to make it to the Laver Cup Ballkid Squad.

Griffin Electric Donates Backpacks and School Supplies to Holliston Pantry Shelf
Griffin Electric, the Holliston-based leading electrical contractor, has once again demonstrated support for the Holliston community with a generous donation of school supplies and backpacks to Holliston Pantry Shelf families. Griffin Electric employees have donated backpacks filled with school supplies to the Pantry each year for the past 8 years.
Envisioning Future Holliston Completes Its Leadership and Plans Next Steps
Envisioning Future Holliston – aka the Comprehensive Long-range Planning Committee (CLRPC) met recently to continue to flesh out its leadership, focus, and next steps. Chair Stacey Raffi convened the in-person session in Room 105 of Town Hall at 6:00pm. Fortunately, not all seventeen members could attend so the available space allowed for some distancing.
