The School Committee (SC) met for executive and regular sessions on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Chair Cynthia Listewnik called the open meeting to order shortly after 7 PM, with all members present, and the membership unanimously voted to approve for posting the minutes of several past meetings.

Youth Advisory Committee Meets
The Youth Advisory Committee met remotely on Monday (12.13.21) evening, as Chair Jennifer Liebermann opened the meeting shortly after 7 PM. Minutes from the November 2021 meeting were approved for posting. Liebermann called on interim director, Kirsten Rancourt (below photo), to present the Director’s Report.

Holliston’s Council on Aging Looks into the Future – Near and Far
Council on Aging (CoA) chair Yvette Cain called the December meeting to order at 2:00 on Thursday, December 9, 2021. The meeting was moved from its normal second Wednesday of the month so a very successful COVID Booster clinic could be held on December 8th (more on this later).
Pearl Harbor Remembrance
December 7, 1941, a “date will live in infamy,” was remembered 80 years later by Holliston’s veterans’ community on a brisk December morning. Several vets gathered in front of Town Hall for a brief, but meaningful, ceremony to pay tribute to the more than 2,400 lives lost during the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The Holliston Trails Committee, chaired by Robert Weidknecht, quietly meets every month to discuss and decide on actions to take for the betterment of the Town’s 6.7-mile Upper Charles Rail Trail.

Library Trustees Welcome New Member and Attend to Business
The December 1, 2021, remote meeting of the Library Trustees began at 7:01 PM with Chair Karla Alfred’s roll call of members. On this evening, Gweneth Swain, newest member, was present for her first meeting and a kind welcome.
Happy Birthday Holliston!
Early colonial settlers might be amused that 297 years later the town would have a committee called “Envisioning Future Holliston”. Their prime concern was most likely firewood and something to eat. Only a handful of families resided in town back then which was a part of Sherborn.
