Before you know it, the holidays will be upon us, and I have already begun to receive questions about anticipated planning for Thanksgiving celebration and travel. While I expect that the administration will provide more specific guidance in coming weeks, I did want to highlight some recent changes to our state’s travel order that may be of interest.

As the weather cools down and the days get shorter, the unfortunate reality is that most public health experts expect our Commonwealth and the country to experience an increase in COVID-19 cases as we move into the fall and winter absence the introduction of a vaccine or effective treatment.

The Town is hiring a temporary part-time School Crossing Guard for the new crosswalk on Woodland St. that connects the Rail Trail to the schools.

Housing instability has been a persistent threat during the COVID-19 pandemic, as families work to stay in safe, stable living situations in an unpredictable economic environment. The Legislature passed a temporary moratorium on non-essential evictions at the beginning of the pandemic to protect those in imminent risk of homelessness, and significant state and federal funding has already been dedicated toward housing support.
