WILLIMANTIC, CT (05/15/2024)– The Department of Communication, Film, and Theatre at Eastern Connecticut State University held its annual honor society ceremony on April 18, 2024 in the Fine Arts Instructional Center. This year’s ceremony included induction into the Lambda Pi Eta national communication honor society and Eastern’s inaugural induction for the Alpha Psi Omega national theatre honor society.
Among the inductees was senior Olivia Skerry of Holliston, who majors in Theatre and was inducted into Alpha Psi Omega.
Lambda Pi Eta is the official communication honor society of the National Communication Association. As an accredited member of the Association of College Honor Societies, Lambda Pi Eta has 400 active chapters at colleges and universities worldwide.
Alpha Psi Omega is a national theatre honor society for participants in collegiate theatre. It began in the early 20th century as a result of the growing interest in dramatic arts among colleges and universities throughout America. Membership is open to students who are active in collegiate/university theatre at four-year institutions.
