Excerpts from the YFS February Newsletter

Holliston Reporter

The monthly newsletter, The Bubble, published by Holliston Youth and Family Services, not only provides residents with various resources; it also highlights Holliston and other area events of interest.

The February Bubble presents Love as its “Spotlight Topic.”  In a helpful and engaging essay, “Love Is a Feeling,” by MSW Intern Sarah White, tips to help people “redeem this day” include shifting one’s idea of romance, practicing self-care, treating yourself, and reminding yourself of the various types of love.

Kirsten Rancourt, Community Therapist at YFS, provides and explains a parenting resource, “The Developmental Relationship Framework.” The Framework illustrates components “that make relationships powerful in young people’s lives.” The components include: express care, challenge growth, provide support, share power, and expand possibilities.

On Sunday, February 23, 1-4 PM, the Grief Support Group will present a circle facilitated by Ben Speaks and Judy Giovangelo.  The focus is the loss of a child. Pre-registration is required; the cost is $45.

Additionally, The Bubble introduces a Holliston High School intern, Ashley Rivas, senior.  “She looks forward to connecting with the community and learning all about careers in the field of Mental Health.”
