John and Celia Gagnon and their family are donating bicycle safety lights to cyclists this Saturday, August 1, from 8 AM – Noon, in the parking lot of 75 Exchange Street, in memory of their daughter Emilee. There are approximately 100 sets of lights available – first come; first served.
The lights are a set comprised of a white front light and a red rear light that strap onto the bicycle. Batteries operate the front light, and a micro USB cable (that will be included) charge the rear light. The white lights have 3 settings and red lights have 2.
John Gagnon will assist with strapping the lights to bicycles, scooters, and other transport, if need be.
Emilee Gagnon was 21 in 2013, when she passed away due to a bicycle accident in Ohio while on a cross-country trip to benefit Multiple Sclerosis. John and Celia Gagnon and their family hope to heighten bicycle safety awareness with this small gift to the community in remembrance of Emilee.
Thank you.
Everyone who rides anywhere should have one.
Just to clarify, our daughter was killed by a reckless driver who was speeding and went off the road. Not a bicycle accident. Emilee was doing nothing wrong.
I wanted to share this important fact,
thank you
Celia Gagnon
We apologize for not making the cause of the accident clearer. Chris and Yvette Cain
