On Saturday August 16, 2025, Michael Goguen, Holliston native and graduate of HHS class of 1994 completed an Iron Man Triathlon in Kalmar, Sweden in 11 hours 58 minutes and 42 seconds besting his personal goal of 12 hours. Mike reported that during the event he encountered harmless jelly fish during the swim and was stung by a bee during the bike event but finished none the worse for wear. He also stated that approximately 1% of all cross-country athletes are able to achieve Iron Man status.
Mike, his wife Nicolette, and their two children Aidan and Ainsley now reside in Switzerland. Mike owns a successful restaurant, food truck and catering business in Zurich. Several Holliston residents have visited his restaurant “Fork and Bottle” and have given favorable reviews. Mike is the son of Richard Goguen and the late Anne (Nanci) Goguen and has one sister Leslie Savoy of Bedford, MA.
Mike started his running career under legendary coach Phil Ryan at Holliston High School and after graduating from Purdue University has finished the Falmouth Road Race several years as well as marathons in London, San Francisco and Alaska.
