The timeline for events leading up to and including Memorial Day are as follow:
Wednesday May 25th Decorate squares and outlying cemeteries
Memorial Day Committee member Walter McGrath and daughter will dress the Veterans Squares and the outlying cemeteries. Volunteer Elin Austin will dress the Cedar Street Cemetery.
Thursday May 26th Meet at VFW at 5 pm for 2 large cemeteries
Veterans, Scouts and other volunteers will gather at the VFW parking lot at 5:00 PM on Thursday May 26th. Groups will then proceed to St. Mary’s and Lake Grove Cemeteries for the dressing of Veterans graves. This will be followed by the retirement of flags that are no longer serviceable.
Monday May 30th – Meet at VFW at 9 am for Cemetery visits
Veterans will meet at 9:00 AM at VFW, 310 Woodland Street to prepare for cemetery visits. Lake Grove Cemetery visit will step off at 9:30 AM. St. Mary’s Cemetery visit will step off at 10:00AM.
Monday May 30th – 10:30 am Form the Parade.
Parade units will begin forming at 10:30 AM at The VFW and Robert Adams Middle School. Parade will step off at 11:00 AM.
After parade and services, a collation will be served for marchers at The Holliston Historical Barn for marchers.
