Dancing Arts Center is proud to announce that two of its students are competing in the Youth America Grand Prix finals held at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa, Florida from May 10-16, 2021.

Hopkinton’s Greyhound Friends is pleased to announce that it added three new board members at its recent Annual Meeting. Paul Curley of Sterling, Samantha Dexter of Milford, and Michael Simon of Holliston joined the board of directors last month.

The Holliston Historical Society is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of $10,000 from Preservation Massachusetts, in partnership with The 1772 Foundation.

A much shorter second part of the Spring Town Meeting was held Tuesday, May 11, 2021. A summary statement might be that the Town is planning / acting for its future.

The Holliston ambulance crews split their time between Milford and Framingham during this reporting period – one day no one was transported despite four calls.

On Tuesday, May 4th a drive-by cookout was held at the Holliston Senior Center to bid adieu to retiring Director Linda Marshall and welcome the new Director Lisa Borchetta.

Moderator William Mayer (above) called the Town Meeting to order once a quorum had been achieved.  Ultimately, over 200 residents participated during the meeting.  Mr. Mayer welcomed everyone and set the tone for the evening’s discussions and decisions. Fire Chief Michael Cassidy outlined how citizens in the cafeteria would be able to participate. ARTICLE 1….

Greetings Folks! The stage is set for the Farmers’ Market at Blair Square beginning June 20th. Following word of its prospect, some of you mentioned that you would like to help out by volunteering. I welcome all the help that I can get.
I’ll be holding a meeting of the Steering Committee (that’s you) on Wednesday May 12th at 6:30 pm at the VFW meeting room (Next Generation Martial Arts building) 310 Woodland St. (rear left side of building). Bring your ideas, suggestions, complaints and thoughts.

More good news from our COVID-19 rollout this week as the Baker administration announced that, beginning today, May 10th, six of the Commonwealth’s mass vaccination sites are now open for walk-up vaccinations.

This week features our Town Meeting. It will begin Monday night at 7:30pm in the High School Auditorium – important decisions are on the Warrant.

Resident Chef Silvia Ribas’ main goal is to share her recipes that focus on helping residents maintain a balanced and whole diet. Her new local HCAT-TV show Garden in the Kitchen will give her an opportunity to do just that.
