Zoom into Board and Committee Meetings
While recently attending a “Select Chat” at the Senior Center featuring Ben Sparrell, Select Board Chair, I spoke to Millie Kampersal, long-time Holliston resident, about the ease of accessing Select Board meetings. She admitted that although she’d like to access some meetings, she didn’t know where to go for directions to do so. This short conversation with Millie made me think that there might be others who would like the process described for them.

Council on Aging Holds February Meeting
Holliston’s Council on Aging held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. The meeting was held using the special guidelines for holding public meetings enacted at the beginning of the pandemic.

Many of us have watched our televisions and seen the horrible devastation in Turkey and Syria due to the earthquakes which ravaged buildings along the border. Unfortunately, this area has already seen their share of problems with the recent influx of refugees due to the conflicts in the area.

February is Black History Month, an opportunity to celebrate the achievements and recognize the struggles of African Americans throughout our history. This year’s theme is Black Resistance, which aims to highlight how African Americans continue to mobilize resources and shape social movements to create a space for Black Americans to thrive. This month is an invitation to explore the histories of Black freedom movements—from slavery and abolition to other ongoing struggles for civil and human rights and we think books are a perfect way to begin that exploration.
100 Acre Woods at the Prana Center
The Prana Center was transformed into the 100 Acre Woods last weekend for a charming production of Winnie the Pooh, featuring 19 youth actors grades Kindergarten through grade 3. The children portrayed Christopher Robin and friends and got a fun introduction into being in a play! Directed by Roberta Weiner.

Caroline Dennison at 92
Caroline Dennison, 92, of Holliston, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14th from 11:00 a.m.- 12:45 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
