The Holliston Cultural Council announces it has provided a grant to Northbridge Brass Endeavors, a large, classical, all-brass ensemble. As a result, Holliston residents can attend FOR FREE a concert at Mechanics Hall in Worcester on May 28, 2023, at 3 PM (the tickets would otherwise be $60) or at Old South Church in Boston on May 27 at 3 PM (tickets otherwise $40).
MiraVista, TaraVista Behavioral Health Centers Promote Holliston Resident
Holyoke-based MiraVista Behavioral Health Center, a top provider of inpatient behavioral health and substance use treatment, as well as outpatient substance use services, joins TaraVista, its sister behavioral health hospital in Devens, in announcing the promotion of Sheila Crowley from Chief Admissions Director at MiraVista to Hospital Administrator/Chief Operating Officer for TaraVista. Ms. Crowley resides in Holliston.

Planning Board Begins Public Hearing on a New 555 Hopping Brook Proposal
The Holliston Planning Board continued two public hearings at their February 16, 2023, meeting. Chair Karen Apuzzo-Langton (below) set the ground rules for the meeting as she called the meeting to order following the guidelines for MA open meetings using remote participation.

St. Mary’s Parish Presents 150th Anniversary Publication
A presentation about the newly-published A History of St. Mary’s Parish, Holliston, MA, 1870-2020 is planned for February 26, 2023, at 2 pm. Three years in the making, the book presents 150-year history of St. Mary’s Parish, written for its 150th anniversary in 2020.

Richard L. O’Shea at 83
Richard L. O’Shea, resident of Holliston since 1965, died February 13 of rapidly progressive dementia.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25th from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St.
Woodland Street Detour for the Foreseeable Future
Woodland Street traffic will be detoured for the foreseeable future while work is planned and performed on the bridge/culvert located at the Factory Pond Dam (across from the 8 Arch Bridge).

Tina Hein Encourages Questions and Conversations
Tina Hein reserves time prior to her weekly Select Board meetings to chat with residents. On any Monday evening at 6 PM, residents are encouraged to meet Hein in the comfort of the Upper Town Hall conference room (also accessible by elevator). Hein invited me to visit with her recently, and I found her to be encouraging of questions and open to any conversation topics and direction.
