As we move into August, many of our colleges and universities will prepare to welcome back some or all students on a limited basis. These returns have been planned to keep students and staff as safe as possible, while recognizing the importance of ensuring access to high-quality public and private higher education.

Grab-n-go meals are still available on Tuesday and Thursday. Several Board and Committee meetings are scheduled this week. Of note are the Governance Committee, School Committee Parents’ Q&A, and the Planning Board Public Hearing on 555 Hopping Brook Road.

HHS 2020-2021 Varsity Captains Share Their Plans and Preparations
From summer league sports being canceled to Holliston High School fields reopening, there were many ups and downs for athletes during this corona-vacation. So much is still unknown. I checked in with my fellow upcoming senior athletes to see what they have been doing while preparing for their potential upcoming season.

COVID-19: July 31, 2020 Update from Representative Dykema
Tomorrow (Saturday, August 1st), the statewide travel order goes into effect in Massachusetts. This travel order seeks to prevent interstate spread of COVID-19 by requiring common-sense safety measures of those traveling to the Commonwealth from states that are not considered low-risk by DPH-approved data.
Water Bill Payments Are Due August 17th
The quarterly water bills were mailed out Wednesday, July 15, 2020. This bill reflects water usage for the period April – June 2020 and any arrears.

Broad Hill Lavender Farm – A Treat for the Senses
At sunrise, Carrie Marsh Loscocco can be found brandishing her scythe among her rows of fragrant flowers. Only a handful of plants can fare well through our cold New England winters. These hardy variants include edible-English lavender and floral-French lavender. Both kinds are hand-reared on the Broad Hill Lavender Farm.
