Richard E. “Dick” Chartrand, 75, of Holliston, passed away at the Parlin House in Wayland, following a long and courageous battle with ALS. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Helen (Moir) and George Chartrand. He was the husband of 31 years to the late Jeraldine F. (Rongo) Chartrand.
Dick served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, sports, and spending time with family.
Dick is survived by two step-daughters, Cari Ryding and her spouse, Lauri of Natick, and Melissa Keeler of Holliston. He also leaves behind three brothers, John Chartrand and his wife, Noreen, of Sandwich, Paul Chartrand and his wife, Linda, of Bellingham, and David Chartrand of Holliston; his sister, Jane Rowe and her husband, Bill, of Milford; 5 grandchildren, Stephen and Megan Keeler, and John, Claudia and Grace Tatian; and 14 nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church in Holliston. Interment with his wife, Jeraldine, will be held privately with family at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
