The Trail’s Storybook Walk to Feature Local Author

Holliston Reporter

From Library Director Leslie McDonnell

The Friends of the Holliston Library are presenting the work of a local author for Storybook Walk on the Holliston Rail Trail.  The walk features multiple posts with pages from a children’s book which can be read as the walker moves.

The winter book is “Who’s Got the Etrog?” by Holliston author Jane Kohuth.  It is the story of wild animals who come together to celebrate in Uganda.  Jane is also the author of Anne Frank’s, “Chestnut Tree,” “Duck Sock Hop,” and other titles, all of which can be borrowed from the library.

The books are prepared and installed quarterly by Mike Tyman of the Holliston Lions Club and Amy Porter from the library.  Storybook Walk was created by Eagle Scout Jamie Ogilvie and funded by the Friends of the Library, the Lions and private donors.

This is the second in a series of works by Holliston children’s authors to be featured on the trail.  Lisa Jobe’s “Can I Keep It?” was the spring 2019 title and winter 2020 will feature Mary Beth Numbers’ “Kintu and the Fairy Bee.”

The Storybook Walk is accessed near Cross Street and is open year-round.
