Narcotics & Firearms Investigation, Arrest, and Seizure

April 23, 2021

On Thursday, April 22, 2021 at approximately 1:49PM members of the Holliston Police Department responded to the area of 42 Westfield Drive after receiving an E-911 call reporting a gun was fired. It was reported by the calling party that a single shot had been fired toward the victim. Upon arrival on scene, the victim reported to police that an altercation between him and another male party had occurred and that the male suspect had allegedly fired a gun before fleeing the scene. Holliston Police officers immediately began an investigation and obtained a description of both the suspect and the motor vehicle. This information was then broadcasted out to surrounding cities and towns in an attempt to locate.

At approximately 2:45PM, the vehicle was observed by the Sherborn Police Department driving into Framingham, MA. A subsequent search of the area resulted in the suspect being placed into a custody by the Framingham Police Department. A firearm was recovered on the suspect’s body at the time of his arrest. The preliminary investigation suggests that the suspect was allegedly attempting to rob the victim at the time of the incident.

Based on the initial investigation, the Holliston Police Department will be charging the suspect with the following:

JOSHUA ROSARIO (AGE 20)

  •  c.265 s.15B – Assault with a Dangerous Weapon

  •  c.269 s.10 – Firearm, Carrying without a License
  •  c.274 s.6 – Attempt to Commit a Crime

Rosario is facing additional charges by the Framingham Police Department and is scheduled to be arraigned later this morning in Framingham District Court.

This matter remains under investigation in conjunction with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office. The Holliston Police Department was assisted by the Framingham, Natick and Sherborn Police Departments.
