Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin, Matthew E. Feddersen, 32, a resident of New York, NY passed away unexpectedly from complications of a tragic accident at Bellevue Hospital on April 19, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on August 19, 1990, in Natick, MA, the cherished eldest son of John and Andrea (Fraser) Feddersen of Holliston, MA. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Bruce E. Fraser and Donald and Rita Feddersen.

Matthew was raised and educated in Medway, MA and graduated from Medway High School in 2008.  Throughout his four years of high school, he was actively involved in Student Council, and a key player and Captain of the Varsity Soccer team. He furthered his education and graduated with Honors from Quinnipiac University in 2012 as a Finance major. In addition, Matthew was working on becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst in his industry. The CFA charter is one of the most respected designations in finance and is widely considered to be the gold standard in the field of investment analysis. To become a charter holder, candidates must pass three difficult exams, have a bachelor’s degree, and have at least four years of relevant professional experience. Matthew had passed both his Level I and Level II exam and was preparing to take his Level III final exam in August.

Matthew was an Analyst Relations Specialist employed by American Century Investments in Kansas City, MO, and worked out of their Manhattan, NY office as a member of the Platform Development Team since June 2019. In more broad terms, he was a valued member of the National Accounts Team.

An avid and faithful Boston sports fan, Matthew spent his weekends following the Patriots, and the Red Sox depending on the season. In addition, he loved watching the PGA Tour and followed the Masters, always had a bracket for the March Madness College tournament, participated in a multitude of fantasy football leagues and was often referred to as a human “Sports Almanac” by his family and friends. He took great pleasure in conversations expressing his insights and opinions regarding all athletes from the College circuit to the Professional league and was well versed in a multitude of sports. Matthew was a devoted friend, son, brother and colleague and devoted himself to maintaining his connections with everyone.

Besides his parents, Matthew is survived by three siblings, Morgan Feddersen of Holliston, Lillian Feddersen (Michael Donnelly) of Worcester, and Braedon Feddersen of Holliston. In addition, he leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Sandra J. Fraser of Amherst, NH; Aunts and Uncles, Cathy McKay and her husband John of Newton, NJ, Carrie Ozzella and her husband Thomas of Orleans, MA, Brooks Fraser of Amherst, NH, Alyce Elizabeth Fraser of Merrimack, NH, Kimberly Watkins and her husband Geoff of Beverly, MA, Brett Feddersen and his wife Kristin of Illinois, Daniel Feddersen of Moultonborough, NH, cousins John McKay (Courtney), Kelsey Day (Rourke), Caitlin Digiacomo (Seth), and Christine, Caitlin and Andrew Marques.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 4th 4-7 p.m.  at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe Street.  A funeral service will be held Friday, May 5th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Matthew’s name may be made to the Jimmy Fund.
