With updates on two old business items and four new business items and on their Thursday night agenda, the School Committee met until 10:49 PM, with much discussion and many items carried over to next week.

Marathon Meeting for the School Committee
The School Committee met for an Executive meeting both before and after a regular session, logging in a marathon of over 5 hours on Thursday evening.

New Signs and Lines on Woodland Street
The “Signs and Lines” work has been completed on Woodland Street, linking the Holliston Rail Trail behind Holliston Oil with a crosswalk in front of Placentino and Miller Schools.

New Normal for the Pantry Shelf
Since 1993, the Pantry Shelf has been attempting to alleviate hunger in Holliston. With the community now in COVID 19 mode, and some residents experiencing the strains of limited resources, loss of employment, and increased health issues, the Pantry Shelf is experiencing unprecedented requests for assistance.

School Committee Approves Computer Science Endorsement Proposal
On Thursday evening, April 23, the School Committee met in special session for an update on the COVID19 closure and the presentation of a proposal for a Computer Science Endorsement Program.
School Committee Meets Remotely
The School Committee met Thursday night in the privacy (somewhat) of each member’s home, voting once again to conduct business remotely during Holliston’s stay at home advisory.
School Committee Votes to Change Present School Calendar
In a special meeting conducted with remote participation of all members of the School Committee, a vote was taken to change April 21, 22, 23, and 24 of the present school calendar (2019-2020) from vacation days to remote learning days, with June 18 designated as the last day of school.
