October is National Cookbook month and it’s no wonder why. Who doesn’t want to get in the kitchen when the temperatures start to dip. It’s harvest time and the rich flavors of fall produce are in abundance. Time to start baking and there’s no better place to start than with versatile, delicious pies! So here is our October book pick – The Book on Pie by Erin Jeanne McDowell.
Father’s Day 2022 was reenacted at the Holliston Historical Society on Sunday, October 16, 2022. The original June 19, 2022, date was rained out but the desire to display collector cars and trucks on the society’s beautiful grounds is not easily discouraged.
Come see “the greatest American play ever written,” according to playwright Edward Albee. At the upper town hall, at 7:30, next weekend both Friday 10/21 and Saturday 10/22, the Washington Street Players will be putting on a grand version of Our Town. The Holliston Community Farm Advisory Committee will host the 5th Annual Haunted Walk at the Community Farm located at 34 Rogers Road. Join us on Saturday, October 22, from 5-9 PM at the Community Farm for a fun and spooky night filled with many scary sites!
Members of Council 14224 were busy Saturday and Sunday this past weekend raising funds, Holliston knowledge, and spirits around town.

Get out around town this week starting with the KofC road rally on Sunday afternoon. Monday is a holiday.
Trash / recycling pickup will be DELAYED one day all week.
Since it rained on Father’s Day, we will have another show on October 16, 2022, from 8-10 AM! Bring a car to show, or just come admire the cars and eat a pancake breakfast!
After a two-year hiatus, Oktoberfest returns to Holliston Historical Society on Friday, October 21 from 7 pm to 10 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm). The Society’s 1815 barn is the perfect venue for this festive occasion.
