It’s hard to believe that spring is around the corner – but then again, we are New England. Students have returned from a much-needed February break and are already halfway through the third quarter of coursework.
In 2022, the Holliston K of C held its First Swing for Charity Golf Tournament at Pinecrest Golf Club and raised $9,000 for the Holliston Pantry Shelf. This was made possible due to the support of 23 sponsors and 87 golfers. The Holliston K of C will be holding its 2nd Annual Swing for Charity Golf Tournament on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Pinecrest Golf Club.
Mary Greendale is an impressive woman with a large resume chock-full of experience in town government. Her passion for government can be tied to her fierce independence and determination to make change. It was a pleasure to speak with Mrs. Greendale and get to know more about her and her career!

The Holliston Youth Basketball season has officially come to an end. Thank you to everyone involved. Have a great off season.
Robert Lewis Giarla “Bob” previously of Holliston, MA, died peacefully surrounded by family on March 6, 2023.
There will be a Celebration of Life in Fort Myers, FL at Peace Lutheran Church on March 23rd, and one in Holliston, MA at the end of June. Details to follow.

Carol Ann Meritt, 80, of Holliston passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Saint Patrick’s Manor in Framingham.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 20th from 9:30 to 11:30 AM with a service at 10:30.

Eastern Massachusetts Senior Softball (EMASS) is opening its annual registration campaign for slow-pitch softball players aged 50 and older. With over 450 members, the league attracts players from towns across Eastern Massachusetts with games played on fields in Wayland, Medfield, and Framingham. The EMASS season opens in late April with 16 or more weeks of regular season games and year-end playoffs completed by October 1.

Be sure to be on time for everything that is going on in Holliston this week by turning all clocks AHEAD one hour Sunday morning.
For decades, I drove the town roads – and the “water” was Lake Winthrop, Factory Pond or perhaps the Bogastow Brook. A beautiful threesome, but rather limited given the rich web of water that runs through our town. In the last five years, with the Holliston Rail Trail completed, I have been able to open my eyes to the extensive waterway network that flows throughout all corners of our town.
