Select Board’s August 1, 2022, Meeting
The entire Select Board and Town Administrator were all in the assigned seats when the Monday, August 1, 2022, meeting convened. Chair Ben Sparrell called the “good” agenda (feeling he’s overused robust) to order at 7:00pm. You can change the adjective but not the amount of work tackled during each meeting.

Publishers’ Note: The State Primary will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2022. We have introduced two Democratic candidates for the 8th Middlesex District. Loring Barnes’ name will appear on the Republican primary ballot. In mid-August a “refresher” of all candidates on the primary ballots will be posted along with sample ballots.

Select Board Meets to Discuss Drought Impact
The Holliston Select Board held a rare mid-week, mid-day meeting prompted by the urgent need for water at the Pinecrest Golf Course. Mr. Ahern and Mr. Sparrell were on vacation. Vice-chair John Cronin called the remote meeting to order at 3:00pm.

Feast or Famine
The summer of 2021 brought only six days of sunshine in one of the most moisture laden months on record. Local farms were literally under water. Fast forward a year and we have almost a “total extreme” Mark Ahronian of Ahronian Landscape told the Reporter on Wednesday morning.
Additional State Funding Available to Artists
The Holliston Cultural Council distributes grant money provided by the State to local artists and other providers of culture. The Council has learned that another source of State funding for local artists will soon become available.
Critical Home Repairs Available to Eligible Holliston Seniors
The Holliston Senior Center and the Greater Worcester Area Habitat for Humanity are partnering in a new Home Repair Program available beginning in July 2022.
