The Holliston Council on Aging held its January meeting on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Chair Yvette Cain convened the meeting at 2:00pm, with the reading of the guidelines for holding public meetings with remote members participation.

Knights to Host Free Throw Contest
St. Mary’s of Holliston Knights of Columbus Council #14224 will be hosting their tenth annual Basketball Free Throw Championship competition at the Holliston High School on Saturday, January 28, 2023. This event is for boys and girls from ages 9 through 14 years of age. There will be boys and girls winners in each age group.
Quarterly Water Bills Coming Soon!
The quarterly water bills will be mailed out Tuesday, January 17, 2023. This bill reflects water usage for the period October, November, and December 2022 and any arrears.

Karen Gordon at 69
Karen Gordon, age 69, passed away unexpectedly on January 3, 2023.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held in Florida under the care of St John’s Family Funeral Home.
Select Board Appoints New Police Lieutenant
The Holliston Select Board convened its first meeting of 2023 at 7:00pm on January 9, 2023. Chair Ben Sparrell has shared with me that he works hard each week to find the best adjective to describe the evening’s agenda – this week an “informative agenda.”

Holliston Doctor Named to Beth Israel Board of Advisors
At the Annual Meeting of the Boards of Trustees and Advisors, Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham (BID Needham) announced one new member to the Board of Trustees, and six new members to the Board of Advisors. Mary E. “Beth” Manning, MD, MPH, has joined the Board of Trustees. Laura Ann Garelick, MD, Katherine Owens, Courtney Quinn, Lee Cohen Senderov, Timothy Sullivan, and Dara Warn have joined the Board of Advisors. Former Board of Trustees Chair Stephen Vanourny was also named Advisor Emeritus on the Board of Advisors.
Celebrate Holliston Donates $45,000 to Blair Square Redevelopment
Celebrate Holliston and Friends of Holliston Trails are pleased to announce our commitment to the redevelopment of Blair Square by way of a monetary donation to the project. The town-appointed Blair Square Committee was formed several years ago and asked to reimagine how the space functions with two key goals in mind: redesigning Blair Square to improve drainage in the area, while also creating a safe, multi-functional community space.
