The Holliston Select Board held its weekly meeting on Monday, February 13, 2023 (otherwise known as Valentine’s Day eve). Chair Ben Sparrell called the meeting to order at 7:00pm sharp. Fire / EMS Log for Week of February 3 – 9, 2023
Holliston Fire had a very busy week – both in town and providing mutual aid during the fire at Brockton Hospital.
Fifteen emergency calls were handled on Sunday, February 5th alone.

Holliston High School students are diving into new classes with the new term starting in mid-January. The bitter cold has not slowed students’ busy schedules. This month’s interview is with Chloe Sampas, president of the Leo Club, a leading community service organization that creates important connections for students to the community.
Theodore S. Valpey Jr. at 90
Theodore S. Valpey Jr., 90, of Dover, NH and formerly of Holliston, MA passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 11, 2023.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home at 854 Washington St. in Holliston, MA.

Zoom into Board and Committee Meetings
While recently attending a “Select Chat” at the Senior Center featuring Ben Sparrell, Select Board Chair, I spoke to Millie Kampersal, long-time Holliston resident, about the ease of accessing Select Board meetings. She admitted that although she’d like to access some meetings, she didn’t know where to go for directions to do so. This short conversation with Millie made me think that there might be others who would like the process described for them.

Council on Aging Holds February Meeting
Holliston’s Council on Aging held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. The meeting was held using the special guidelines for holding public meetings enacted at the beginning of the pandemic.
