Spring Brings Rail Trail Chores and Reminders

Holliston Reporter

With spring upon us, Holliston Rail Trail cleanup from the winter storms has begun.  First, debris from fallen limbs and branches get the bulk of attention.  The trail surface will need to be groomed.

Areas around each bench will be tidied up.  Yes, the benches are for sitting… Please note that any personal bench decorations need to be claimed to avoid being lost in the cleanup effort.

Litter has not been a significant issue–thanks to all of you who pick up after yourselves. Keep up the good habits.  It’s appreciated!

The Holliston Rail Trail cleanup crew is small in number, but we are determined to keep our trail a good-looking, useful asset for us all.

Small armfuls of available cut wood will be moved to the following crossing sites for free pickup by anyone:  Lowland St., Cross St., and Hopping Brook.  If there’s no wood, someone else got it.

Please continue to be aware of social distancing. Stay the appropriate distance from each other and don’t gather in groups.   We ALL need to be vigilant to minimize the spread of Covid-19 virus.  For a less traveled section of trail, try Hopping Brook toward Milford or Mayflower Landing toward Sherborn.

We can look forward to a tidy trail and better days ahead by doing what’s necessary now.  It takes All of us!
