Three Presentations to the School Committee
Thursday evening’s (April 8, 2021) School Committee (SC) meeting was called to order at 7:11 PM by Chair Stacey Raffi, and after members approved minutes of several prior meetings, (9.3.20, 9.10.20, 9.24.20), Raffi turned the floor to two Holliston High School students.
Theater Review: Anne of Green Gables
On a sunny Thursday afternoon I had the enormous pleasure of watching 10 talented children put on their first dress rehearsal of Anne of Green Gables. (See cast list below.) The youngest was in first grade, and only two were in fifth grade. Amazingly, they brought this well-loved tale to life despite their ages.

Library Trustees Meet for Update
Following Chair Nancy Baron’s reading of the remote open meeting statement at 7 PM on April 7, and roll call attendance, Trustees voted to approve minutes from the March 3, 2021 meeting. Baron then turned the floor over to Library Director Leslie McDonnell for the Director’s Report.

New Veterans’ Monument Planned for Blair Square
The Holliston Veterans are raising funds to install a monument honoring Iraq and Afghanistan vets. The Monument (see below) will be a serene place just off the Upper Charles Rail Trail near the intersection of Front and Vine Streets.

Holliston Roadway Construction and Paving
The Holliston Highway Department announces that roadway construction is scheduled to begin the week of April 12, 2021, weather permitting, on the following streets: Marshall, Hanlon, Prentice, Cheryl, and Cedar.
COVID-19: April 5, 2021 Update from Representative Dykema
Today, a new group of Massachusetts become eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. As of this morning, all individuals 55 or older and all individuals with 1 or more eligible medical conditions are eligible to receive the vaccine.
Holliston LEO Club Highlights Video Airing On HCAT-TV
Holliston has its very own Television station – “Holliston Cable Access.” The main purpose of HCAT-TV is to produce and televise all sorts of community television shows for the local viewing audience. Producing a TV show includes some technical knowledge and a certain level of creativity. Some residents are aware that HCAT employs a small staff and relies heavily upon volunteers to uphold our mission.
Civics Sunday: Candidate Statements Invited for Publication
The Publishers of the Holliston Reporter invite all candidates vying for an elected position in Holliston’s town government in the spring of 2021 to submit a Statement of Intent.
