The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) meeting was called to order by Chair Matt Putvinski at 7:03 PM, on Monday, May 8, 2023. April meeting minutes were approved and will be available on the Youth and Family Services website.
The Holliston Garden Club and the Friends of Trees have been advocating for Holliston to become a Tree City USA since August of last year. The Select Board has agreed to submit an application to become a Tree City USA. Part of this program’s requirements include adopting a by-law that protects trees in the community.
The weekly meeting of the Holliston Select Board was called to order at 7:01pm by Chair Ben Sparrell. Mr. Cronin was absent.
On Saturday, May 6th, the sun finally broke through the clouds / rain to shine down on the Town’s shiny Public Safety vehicles and guests. We visited the event and came away with these photos.

Fresh from Holliston’s successful Public Safety Touch-a-Truck (HFD’s Ladder truck touches the wispy clouds), it’s another full week of activities and meetings.
Holliston’s Principal Assessor shares the fifth installment of “Ask the Assessor” in which he answers the question: “I’ve done nothing to my house. So, why did my assessment go up?”
The Holliston Education Foundation (HEF) will be holding a special fundraiser in May to boost our schools and support fantastic teaching efforts for our children.
A student art auction will be held next week on Friday May 12th from 4-8pm at the Timothy Fiske House (747 Washington Street), followed by Downtown Day on Saturday May 13th, from 12-4pm at the same location at the corner of Washington St. and Hollis St. Proceeds will benefit the Holliston Community Action Fund (HCAF) –-thanks to the Student Division of HCAF.
