This week’s HFD emergency calls were mainly for medical care / transport. There was one kitchen fire that drew the firefighters’ attention.
The Holliston Historical Society’s (HHS) Harvest Fair, held on its picturesque grounds, drew a crowd from near and far Sunday, September 19, 2021. The house, the barn, and the front yard over-flowed with yummies, treasures, tunes, and opportunities for all to enjoy. The sun shone brightly on the historic yellow house on Washington Street, and its lawn buzzed with the activity of a community about to make up for lost time.

A busy week ahead. Monday’s Select Board meeting includes the presentation of the Asst. Town Administrator finalist for the Board’s consideration.
The weather may have been dim and dreary, but Central Street from Washington Street to Blair Square was beaming and animated for Celebrate Holliston’s 2021 street party. People seemed to have come out in droves to mingle with friends and community. Booths, music, food and demonstrations lined the street.

On Sunday, September 12, 2021, first responders, public safety officials, governmental leaders gathered to witness the annual awarding of the American Legion’s Medal of Merit to fifteen of Holliston’s Finest and Bravest. This year the Legion dusted off its “Unsung Citizen” Award to recognize a totally unsuspecting local gem who was just there to make sure the show went on.
